In short: some product links on WattBuild are affiliate links. If you buy through one, WattBuild LLC may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you.
How affiliate links work
When you click an affiliate link and then buy, the store pays WattBuild LLC a commission. The price you pay is the same. We use affiliate links:
- through the ShareASale affiliate network;
- directly with some stores, whose links carry a WattBuild tag (such as
?ref=wattbuild) so the store knows the visit came from us.
The store learns that you came from WattBuild. See our Privacy Policy for what that means for your information.
Where affiliate links appear
Affiliate links can appear on product pages, comparison pages, calculator results, the project workspace, and in product cards shown by the AI assistant in chat. Where we can, the link itself is labeled (for example "Affiliate link") so you don't have to come to this page to know.
Do commissions affect what we show?
Sometimes, and we want you to know where:
- Which store we link to. When several stores sell the same product, we may link to a store that pays us a commission ahead of a cheaper one.
- Charge controller suggestions for a solar array. Among the controllers that fit your array, ones we can link with an affiliate link are listed first.
- Inverter and charger choices in your project, and inverter matches in chat. These are ordered by how well each product fits your design, then by price. A commission only decides the order between two products that fit equally well at the same price.
A commission never makes a product that doesn't fit your design appear as a match. Prices and specifications come from makers and stores and may be out of date; check them before you buy.
